Novel in the Neighborhood book clubs

At Novel in the Neighborhood, we believe that a great community starts with respect and inclusion. To help foster that environment, we ask all participants to agree to and uphold The Neighborhood Book Club Community Guidelines. 

Be respectful and kind
Treat all participants with courtesy and consideration. We welcome diverse perspectives and encourage thoughtful discussion, even when opinions differ.

Listen with openness
Book club is a space for shared learning and curiosity. Listen actively, avoid interrupting, and engage with the goal of understanding rather than persuading.

Honor diverse experiences
Our community includes people of many backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences. Discrimination, harassment, or harmful language of any kind will not be tolerated.

Share the space
We encourage everyone to participate while also making room for others. Be mindful of how much time you take in discussions so all voices have a chance to be heard.

Engage thoughtfully
Disagreements are natural and welcome when expressed respectfully. Critique ideas, not people, and approach conversations with care and empathy.

Respect privacy
Personal stories shared in the group should remain within the group, unless someone gives explicit permission to share them elsewhere.

Support a welcoming environment
Help us foster a community where everyone feels comfortable attending, participating, and returning. If something feels off or concerning, please reach out to a staff member.

By participating in The Neighborhood Book Club, you agree to uphold these guidelines and contribute to a positive, inclusive book club experience for all.

Join our store-sponsored book club, facilitated by our staff. The Neighborhood Book Club meets once a month on the third Friday at 7:00pm. To guarantee your copy arrives in time, and to give you plenty of time to read, please pre-order your book with us at least two weeks in advance.

Pages & Peace is where neighbors come together to read quietly in a shared space. Bring any book you’d like and enjoy an hour of uninterrupted reading alongside others who value calm, connection, and community. There’s no assigned reading and no discussion required, just a peaceful environment to slow down, get cozy, and enjoy the simple pleasure of reading together.
